You are the one that is responsible for the content that is being shared. If You are doing something illegal?, I guess You can go to confession on Sunday and clear Your conscience?:D . The battle with ISP's(Not just WISP's) and end users over PtP applications will never end. Port blockers are worthless these days, as some of the adaptive PtP applications will just move over to port 80, and then stuff really goes crazy. That doesn't happen on our network, as we use packet technology that "sees" (for lack of better terms) what type of data is using the network and it sees that the same IP's and ports are getting hit with the same data and strings. I am not our linux guru, I am just repeating what my Sys. Admin. has told me?. I guess we will see what happens in the long run?
--
»www.wavecrazy.net Join WISPA today! »www.wispa.org/

It has nothing to do with blocking "power users", but everything to do with lawsuits and the RIAA. While I have no stand on what is "right or wrong" as far as the moral standpoint is concerned, I do understand why a lot of providers are blocking these ports and services, as we simply can NOT afford to defend our subscribers if we are served with papers. While this is unfortunate, it is reality.:)
--
»www.wavecrazy.net Join WISPA today! »www.wispa.org/

anon : No, KeyOn 'upgraded' their CPE's. You cannot access them anymore. From the looks of it, they installed a IDS system in conjunction with a system that blocks all incoming server traffic.. how they do this.. I have no idea. I tried to run a small server from different random range of ports and nothing can connect anymore. Keyon is targeting people that just want internet.. not for power users. I'm also going back to Cox!

I can connect to eMule, but not download or upload. Does anyone here use Keyon? Any similar problems? I've also noticed my BT downloads are much slower (but still acceptable).
