First came this:
"LUS claims that the FTTH system would provide Lafayette with state of the art technologies for decades to come. Experts say that is not the case. New technologies like wireless are already on the horizon and could make LUS's 125 million dollar investment obsolete in a few years."
And then this a little later:
"Since Bell South and Cox Communications are now installing fiber optic systems that provide exactly the same services as LUS, why should Lafayette citizens spend 125 million dollars on a high risk venture that duplicates what private vendors are already doing."
First they tell you its almost obsolete and then they tell you that they are currently installing it themselves.
Don't speak truths we all know those have no merit. Truth is what will bring down their whole campaign, the problem is that the people who want the fiber don't have the money that the big guys have to spread fud. They can't advertise or its seen as a waste by people. I hope it fails and they get their increased rates like the tri city area got.
