A little more.

FIOS should bury the competition. There is no way cable can provide 20mbps/5mbps on the current technology and still make it profitable. I believe it would be good if they could upgrade to this and still maintain the "god" like image they had before all these other companies joined in.

Unfortunately, there are many of areas where Adelphia and Verizon are a option. Since some of these areas are going to be on the Verizon non priority list for FIOS upgrade (areas that do not strategically offers some form of political influence), Adelphia will be at least offering something comparable in speed. Verizon FIOS (FTTH) will not come close to burying any competition except in the areas they see fit to install it. Plus, by the the time FIOS becomes available here, I will believe the next generation of cable delivery will be implemented (about 5 to 10 years from now).
