Poison Pill

This strikes me a a "posion pill" attempt to create more problems for the new owners. Seems they're hell bent on sticking to their history of unethical and incompetent management to the bitter end. At least they're consistent.

NOTE TO SELF: Never under any circumstances hire ANYONE with Adelphia on thir resume.

Huh? How about...Increase the value of subscriber services, and thereby increase the value of each subscriber, thereby increasing the value of the company. The actual sale value of the company is not clearly defined, and is in fact based upon the per subscriber value based upon an arbitrary date determined by the parties involved as the "turnover" date.

Thereby INCREASING THE VALUE RETURNED TO CREDITORS AFTER BANKRUPTCY.

Seems more likely to me that new management is doing ALL THEY CAN to recover as many assets as possible for the creditors that were SCREWED by the Rigas family.

While your perpetually tainted view of Adelphia may never go away, I will forever take pleasure in debunking any and all inaccuracies that you continue to spew forth.

Note to Self...DO NOT EVER under ANY Circumstances, seek or accept employment in the cess pool known as Beverly Hills.

I'm not sure what industry you're in, but surely you can understand that introducing "new" products and services as "lame duck" management is much like a politician cramming through legislation during the end of their term. They're NOT doing it to help anyone, they're doing it to spend money and to obligate the incoming management to contracts and products they very likely don't want.

When your company is being dissected and sold is NOT the time to release new products, and they've known this was coming for quite some time. Shame on these for abusing their share holders.

Re: Poison Pill

When said company is in Bankruptcy, and every move the company makes is done at the discretion of the courts who represent the creditor's, then spending money for the sake of spending money is NOT EVEN AN OPTION.

You, and I know this is true, have been told numerous times about the Bankrupcy courts having final say, over EVERY MOVE this company makes....The Bankruptcy court is there to seek the best possible outcome for the creditors.

You make absolutely no sense. Shame on those who spread lies and rumor, all the time ignoring facts laid out in front of their noses.

Not true at all. The supervision of a bankruptcy court is done at a macro level; it does not prevent companies from devloping new products, advertising, etc. Good sense should do that, but of course had there been any at Adelphia they wouldn't be where they are today.

You have to ask yourself what kind of management, KNOWING they're about to aquired, would waste resources on developing anything when it will only be discarded by the aquiring owners. You really think the Comcast and Time Warner want to deal with new products from a failed company?

Re: Poison Pill

I stand by every single word I said. And I believe I have a much better perspective than you.

If TW or Comcast discard Docsis3.0 or VoIP or VOD or HiDef, well, I would say shame on them instead.

I don't think perspective is the issue here. You don't seem to be objective or have much understanding about how bankruptcy supervision works. That's OK, most people don't, but facts are facts.

It's not a matter of discarding the technologies, it's a matter of rolling them out at their own speed, with their own preferred vendors. They certianly won't let a failed company like Adelphia make those decisions for them.

Re: Poison Pill

There's a small handful of vendor's to choose from, you actually think Adelphia's going to choose a non certified Vendor? You actually think this isn't being talked about in the transition committee meeting?

I will repeat what I had said earlier...No money is spent without the Bankruptcy court's approval.

You are so narrow minded.

Unfortunately repeating yourself doesn't make you right, and name calling just makes you sound desperate.

Bankruptcy court supervision is extremely minimal, surely you're not naive enough to think that the Federal government has the manpower or the expertise to manage every company in bankruptcy court?

Let me break it down in a way that might be easier for you to understand. If you buy a house do you want the previous owners re-painting the kitchen the week they leave? Odds are it's not the color you want.

Adelphia "management" has failed. They lost the company, and they're all going to be unemployed. They should stop mucking things up and spend more time sending out resumes and less making plans for the new owners to un-do.

Re: Poison Pill

No name calling at all, just an observation. You are clueless in regards Adelphia the company, as it is today. You are stuck in the past, holding onto when the Rigas' spent billions doing nothing, and the network fell far behind it's competitor's capabilities.

New management has not failed, you misunderstand their purpose. During bankruptcy, this management team was brought in to seek the best possible outcome for the creditor's who were screwed by the Rigas'. They deserve to get as much of their lost investments returned to them as possible. Over the past 3 years, Adelphia has done nothing more than to deploy the same advanced services every other MSO out there is doing. utilizing industry standard hardware and software, and ALL of that work financed via DIP funding, and certified by Board of directors and the Bankruptcy courts. Absolutely nothing done in secret or via deceptive action.

To use your own analogy,

In order to sell a previously owned house, especially one fallen into disrepair and with a sizeable lien on it, most current owners are required to do the necessary repairs and maintenance in order to make the house sellable....ie...fix or replace the roof, upgrade the plumbing or electric, apply paint where it is needed, sometimes, in order to fetch a more favorable price, even install some landscaping or a new deck.

The only cause for discomfort on the part of TW or Comcast, from the work Adelphia is doing, would be that the final price would be a bit higher.
