How long do I wait?

I signed up for Cavtel DSL about two months ago and still have no service (no ports open). I have been a happy Cavtel telephone (regular ol' POTS line) customer for over two years. What gives? Anybody else in NOVA (Fairfax) having the same problem? I am about ready to give up... but the lure of high speed DSL for $25/month keeps me hanging on.

Oh, I do every week. I was advised early on to do so by a customer rep.

This week’s update:
They are building me a "line". Now what that means is left up to speculation. The last thing I was told was that I was waiting for a port to open.
It seems to me like they are waiting for multiple requests before they add capacity. Then they need to schedule a time with Verizon to install the equipment. This all seems to take months...
What a screwed-up system!!
