Why isn't it higher with...

C-Band? It MAY be higher IF you turn around and then buy all the stupid channels you didn't want anyway. I figure I'm like most people...I only watch about 10 channels plus 2 or 3 locals...the other 100 are lame filler. Commentating on ESPN is so horrid I would dump their expensive asses in a second...same with Fox Sports West dummies ruining ANAHEIM Angel games with their pointless chatter.

I used to think it was a bad idea buying the FCC argument but after looking at C-Band I would expect cable to be no different, in fact it may even get better due to competition and more direct marketing. USA and other channels would be selling direct to consumers rather that relying on cable operators to include them in bundled packages. If their programming sucked...no subscribers, no revenue.

ESPN accounts for anywhere from 15-30% of a standard cable subscriber's bill. Rather than al-a-carte, why not regulate them into a premium (like HBO) or pay-per-view realm?

The ones that will be hurt most are the smaller networks. I think it would be smarter to stick it to the big dogs at Disney (parent company of ESPN) and tell them we don't need their hands in our pockets if we don't want their lousy services.

Let them be hurt...compelling programming can save them...if they're not willing to put compelling programming and actually get ratings then they can cease operating. Neither cable operators or subscribers should be operating a charity organization for channels which can't pull a rating point.
