We are working to make this specific remote function a lot better in the next release. Do you have any specific comments or thoughts for what would make it work better? We'd really like to make sure the Slingbox performs great with that unit, so any suggestions are appreciated!

garyore join:2005-07-03 Boca Raton, FL | Let me think. Call the LIST button LIST and not the second MENU Show the A B C buttons on the same screen that they are used. I have not figured out how to stop and delete a saved showing. on the remote you press the button under fast rewind which pops up a menu giving options to delete.
As I have mentioned SA could have taken a lesson from TIVO on how to make it user friendly.

I have figured out the delete after you start playing.. It is right where it should be right under the fast rewind and is called the stop button...
On the same screen... I will call it the REMOTE screen because that is the top button... you have some space to the right of tree rows of buttons.. PUT THE A B C button there. Than you gotz it....

| | gary,
in the "remote" drop down menu (big black button on the remote is a dropdown) do the options from there work as intended? Because in there are some keys that aren't in the actual "layout" of the remote.

So is the following summary correct? * Rename the second "menu" entry (in the pull-down) "List" - do you use this button enough for it to appear on the virtual remote graphics? * Add A/B/C buttons to virtual remote graphics * Rename the STOP button "Delete" - is there no "stop" button on the 8300 remote at all? Should it be "Stop/Delete"?
Thanks for your feedback! I'll push to get this into an upcoming build. Also, if you are able to private message me your email address, I can let you know when I have a test version you could try out (if you are interested in doing so).

IT WOULD BE FINE WITH ME IF YOU JUST CALLED IT LIST. * Add A/B/C buttons to virtual remote graphics IF THE VIRTUAL REMOTE IS THE DISPLAY THAT HAS CONTROLS FOR RECORDING THAN YES. I WOULD PUT THE A BOTTON (COLOR IT YELLOW) TO THE RIGHT OF THE REPLAY BOTTON, THE B BOTTON (BLUE) TO THE RIGHT OF THE FF BUTTON AND THE C BUTTON (RED) TO THE RIGHT OF THE PAUSE * Rename the STOP button "Delete" - is there no "stop" button on the 8300 remote at all? Should it be "Stop/Delete"? SINCE THE PLACEMENT OF THIS BUTTON IS THE SAME AS THE REMOTE REAL REMOTE CONTROL I WOULD LEAVE IT ALONE.

| | | Re: Remote Control My original and primary plan is to use the slingbox to sling video from my 400 disc sony dvd changer.
If its possible please look into support for the Sony DVP-CX985V
If there is any testing or remote template design , etc you require please let me know. I'll be providing contact information when support email addresses are posted on the slingmedia site.
thanks again for an AWESOME product at a great price. my coworkers are amazed at the quality and my initial purchase has resulted in two more from my coworkers

Glad you are liking the Slingbox so far!
May I ask what buttons are you missing from the DVP remote?
Are there controls available in the pull-down which are not available on the graphical remote which you think need to be there?
Are there any mislabeled buttons?

| | | | | Re: Remote Control The sony dvd changer has 400 discs and im unable to change those however the standard buttons work fine.
I've tried the model below mine that supports 300 discs and it doesnt allow me to change discs.

I'm glad you have some of the functionality working!
Two new questions: 1) Is there a DI+/- and/or a CH+/- button on the SlingRemote? Does it/they do anything?
2) Can you try the "Remote pull-down" (it's the word "remote" above all the buttons) and look through all the menus? You may see a Disk+/- option in there somewhere.
Happy to help!

| | | | | | | Re: Remote Control Jeremy,
the DI and CH buttons are visible however they are grey'd out. the option within the remote pull down for "next disk" and previous disk may work... ill give that a shot and post the results.
thanks for the help !

| | | | | | | | Blackout Buster What about this as a blackout buster? I bet the NFL wouldn't like someone watching blacked out home games when their machine was broadcasting from their brother's house in their old home town? Or perhaps time shifting programs from another time zone for convenience? | |
|
| | | | | | | Jeremy,
I've tried the disc up / down options within the remote menu drop down. this does not work
I'll leave a trouble ticket within the sling support site and go from there. looks like its just a driver issue, i know you guys cant do every device out there, i hope you can do the changer
thanks for your help

Have you tried code Y1033?
Is there any way we can switch to email? My address is fairly guessable - it's my first name at my company's URL (trying to avoid spam, otherwise I'd write it here)...
