4 edits | Microsoft may just be buying the client contracts If MS buys Claria, they may just be doing it to get the client contracts. They could then use any software they want to place ads on web pages. Even MS realizes that there is a LOT OF MONEY to be made in ads on the internet. And ads are NOT going away. Hopefully they are only made available in an upfront honest way and not placed on the computer thru subterfuge. God knows there are enough people who will approve ad generating software on their systems without tricking them into it. I won't be one of them, but there are plenty of people who will agree to anything to get some software for free.
