Re: ... I am not even certain where I should begin in picking apart your post...so I guess I shall start from the top and work my way down:
1) I am not amorphous.(»dictionary.reference.com/search?q=amorphous) a) You may have been using it figuratively, but that would mean you were using something other than English. b) Try to at least insult me intelligently.
2) So...I am both without form and in a state of decline. Please learn fundamental English vocabulary and then return.
3)I do not blindly believe Microsoft, I believe the truth is more that you blindly hate Microsoft. a) I have used many, many Microsoft products over the years and have had only limited troubles (very rarely was Microsoft at fault, it was usually third party hardward/software problems). b) I choose to research things, I recommended we wait and see not blindly believe it is for our good.
4) I predicted nothing, it is the lot of you trolls who predict things; once again, I said wait and see. I do not claim to know what will come of this; I know no better than most of the rest of the members of this forum. Simply wait and see.
5) Your rant about viruses, spyware, privacy, et cetera: a) Microsoft is neither to blame for nor should be held accountable for the immoral and nefarious nature of some of the world's programmers. b) Privacy problems do not arise from the nature of Microsoft's software, they arise from the criminal nature of those who look for ways to exploit Microsoft's software. c) Most problems with computers are the result of third party software and such installed by the end user, once again, Microsoft is not to blame for this. d) Many privacy concerns and problems in this day and age are the result of 'social engineering' and other such 'Layer 8' problems.
6) Users of Microsoft products are not slaves. a) We choose to use Microsoft products because we believe them to be the best on the market. b) You are perfectly within your rights to disagree, please do so without the edge of hysteria and paranoia that is all too common amoung anti-Mircosoft trolls.
7) Being the largest software company on Earth does not mean that Microsoft has conquered the world. a) Microsoft has competition from multiple companies in the IPTV 'indsutry,' is this the mark of a world-owner? b) There are desktop alternatives to Microsoft, would there be any if Microsoft was truly the ruler of the world? I think not.
8) I believe you meant a more 'critical' spirit. a) I am quite critical when the occasion calls for it, I am simply unbiased (unlike you) and when I believe Microsoft has made the best product I say so. b) If I believed there was a better alternative to Microsoft, I would state as much. I do not believe that to be true. c) Microsoft is the biggest for a good reason and it is not because it is the worst software around, believe it or not. d) There is a big difference between being 'critical' and being hysterical and ranting and raving. I believe you can deduce wherein that you lie.
9) You forgot to actually ask a question, o well. a) I was simply showing you (with one small example of many possible) that Microsoft is not an evil corporation of demonic entities bent on sucking the life-blood out of everything. b) I recommend you look into the number of patents and the types of patents Microsoft has and how it enforces its legal rights. You may be surprised. c) Yes, OJ Simpson may give to charity, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the current situation. I) I know you were trying to state that someone can be guilty/evil (et cetera) and still do some good. II) This is a much different situation. III)I must say that it slightly disturbs me that you feel free to compare murder and software development.
10) I do not care if you say something against Microsoft (or if anyone else does so), I simply wish that it was done in a more intelligent manner.
11) As for privacy: a) My privacy is not being put at risk, yet. b) If my privacy was put at risk, I would not defend Microsoft's actions. c) Microsoft is not 'lowering' my privacy. They are simply acquiring another company; I will wait and see what becomes of it.
12) Yes, I can think of (come up with) a myriad reasons Microsoft would make such a move. a) I find it dubious that Microsoft would purchase Claria/Gator simply to destroy it; that is highly unlikely (take one look at Microsoft's legal team and you will see a better way to accomplish that). b) Did you ever consider Microsoft might want to take a look at how such an operation is run? Perhaps get a better understanding of our mutual enemy? c) Microsoft is no more fond of malware than you or I; it harms their reputation and reduces sales. Microsoft would like to see this problem go away just as much as any end-user.
13) I felt no less secure and no more secure at the beginning of this firestorm, and I feel no less secure and no more secure now. Once again, I plan to wait and see.
14) Yes, I know enough HTML to make this into a list using said language, but I felt like doing it this way. I don't think it really matters.
