Re: [SunRocket] testyourvoip.com results and what

There is no unlimited life to technology and that includes cable modems. Sometimes things just go wrong out of the box.

Why not post a tracert so we can see the packet loss and rule out if it is confined to your provider's network or if it is down the internet off their network. If it is off their network, there is usually nothing that can be done for it unless that backbone provider or whoever's network it is on fixes it.

I know for companies like UUNET and Level3, they have a reporting service where you can let them know about routers that might be having issues.

I thought the pingplotter image above is a tracert. If it is not, what should I do?

Nope, that will work. Sorry I didn't see it. I just scrolled to the end of the thread.

If this was run with UDP packets, then there definitely is some packet loss issues on your network, as well as on the route it takes to get to the IP you traced to. The last IP looks like it's either down or not even accept UDP packets (if you set Pingplotter to use UDP).

yes I used udp and set it to the sip server for sunrocket.

Is it the majority opinion that it is my internet service and that I would likely have the same problems with any other voip provider that I have with SR? I guess I may have to go back to copper until I can get another choice for internet.
Or until comcast fixes these issues?
I am just trying to determine what to try, different voip or get comcast to give me a better connection.
