Belvedere Tiburon, CA | Same problem as MMDS and all wireless Folks, we've got the same problem as any "single antenna" metro wireless broadband application--SPECTRUM.
Huge footprint solutions are like trying to cover all of a metro area with one cellular antenna--technically possible, but only for a few users.
Put it on a tall tower, put it on a mountain top, or put it on a blimp--it's still just one antenna and it can't re-use frequencies. (At least the land-based approaches can possibly "sector" their coverage and have limited re-use, but a blimp flying through high altitude winds?)
