ebiebi join:2003-08-13 Albuquerque, NM | Just switched Well I jumped on the new Qwest 1.5 promo that started Sunday. Signed up on Sunday and they said it would be connected on the 14. Tech called on 14 and said he hooked me up.. When I got home last night modem was at my doorstep. This morning I hooked up the modem and it works perfectly. This DSL service only cost 24.95 a month for a year. I was paying 58 dollars with my CC HSI. So I am saving allot. Upload is better with Qwest and download much slower but when web surfing I can't tell the difference. Price is definitely a factor here.
The only thing I can say about Comcast is that you will pay allot of money for their services. Either way, if you only order their HSI you pay up the noise. If you think you are getting a discount with them by subbing to their crap TV, your wrong. I have Dish with top 120 including sirus radio with dual tuner receiver and HD 811 receiver for a total of three tv's. This with my Qwest DSL runs about 75 dollars a month. If I got Comcast expanded basic (all analog) with HSI My total would be just over 100 dollars a month... and that has allot less channels then I have now with no interactive guide and no audio music channels. If I got something that would match my dish setup like digital plus and HSI that total would swell to 135 bucks a month. Which is approaching twice what I pay now for TV/DSL. Either way, with or without cable tv and HSI you will pay more. Cable prices have been off the hook, out of hand for quite awhile. And Comcast just sent me another rate increase card starting Aug 1 05 (3 dollars). This is the second increase for the year. All the channels they said they added were there when I last had expanded a few months back.. its more then out of hand.. Really glad Qwest is getting more competitive in my market. Regardless of what some may think of Qwest DSL, its running very smooth now and they got me up and running in 4 working days without a single hitch. |
