[H/W] Interface Transmit ErrorsI am getting transmission errors on a Fast Ethernet interface with a relatively low amount of traffic (~3.2mbps): 068779: .Jul 20 15:12:25.605 EST: %AMDP2_FE-5-LATECOLL: FastEthernet2/0 transmit error 068780: .Jul 20 15:12:27.317 EST: %AMDP2_FE-5-LATECOLL: FastEthernet2/0 transmit error 068781: .Jul 20 15:12:29.397 EST: %AMDP2_FE-5-LATECOLL: FastEthernet2/0 transmit error 068782: .Jul 20 15:12:30.881 EST: %AMDP2_FE-5-LATECOLL: FastEthernet2/0 transmit error 068783: .Jul 20 15:12:41.641 EST: %AMDP2_FE-5-LATECOLL: FastEthernet2/0 transmit error 068784: .Jul 20 15:12:44.341 EST: %AMDP2_FE-5-LATECOLL: FastEthernet2/0 transmit error Any ideas as to what the cause of these could be? |

What's the device and IOS type?
Also verify that both peers are in the same duplex mode. |

This is a Cisco 3640 running IOS 12.3(10)T... duplex is set correctly. |

Are you sure that the duplex setting match on both sides? The router post %AMDP2_FE-5-LATECOLL error message, which mean there is a late collision error that most of the time is caused by mismatched duplex settings. Here is the Cisco link for more info on the error message: » www.cisco.com/en/US/tech ··· 6d.shtmlGround rule is that both sides (your router and the other equipment) should be in the same setting; either auto, full, or half duplex. |

It's an optical interface, so unfortunately, there is no auto-negotiation.
I am waiting for the NM-2FE2W-V2 module to arrive so I could replace our LAN interfaces, and this way I would be able to run full-duplex Fast Ethernet. |

Other than hardware failure (which is generally more spectacular), you should not see that error on a full-duplex interface. If you are, something's not at full-duplex (no matter what the layer-1 medium is). What's at the other end? What hooks up to what's at the other end? |

I had something similar to this.....I upgraded my IOS and then shut everything down and it was fine. |
