[abuse] Someone make it stop!

ever since I got Verizon Fios MCI in the last 2 days has called a total of 20 times..

and today alone they called 6... I knoe Because the CID says MCI and the phone does a double ring.. and it's the same crap all the time about switching LD providers.

Should they be calling this much?

Next time they call today i'm going to blast them with a SIT Tone!

Answer the phone. That's probably your recorded message welcoming you to FiOS.

It does not matter if MCI calls you or not and if you were to switch over your long distance carreir would become Verizon because Verizon is buying them out.

And guess who just called at 8:30PM Which I thought they can't call after 8PM

None other then MCI.. So I pick up the phone, did not hear anything, said said Hello, and the laday starts right off asking me if I wanted to switch and saying I'm paying bewteen 40-45 a month for LD..

so when she took a breath for air, I threw in what I said to say, I said i'm not switching, and this is the 10th time you have called today I'm not switching LD carries, and she said she's sorry

give me a friken break, They call every friken day.

If they have established a "previous business relationship", they can call you until you ask them specifically to remove you. "Remove me from your calling list" are typically the first words out of my mouth in these cases.

MCI has a bad habit if ignoring "remove me" requests. Before the DNC List, I got barraged by them. Every time I said "I have previously told you to not call and I am telling you again" they were like "yeah, whatever." More than once, the caller would tell me "we don't have to" or cuss me out.

If you're on the DNC List, go to ftc.gov and file a complaint. Also, try get as much info from the caller as you can, like the name and number of the telemarketing firm they work for, and the promotion code(s) they are pushing to you. And, notify your state Consumer Affairs bureau and/or Attorney General. Depending on the local laws, they may go after them more vigorously than the feds.

ok Just filed a complaint, heck if I had to guess in 2 years.. I'm sure they have called here at least 80 times (no joke)

And it's always about the same thing, but I don't use MCI anymore for LD, and calling me every other hour is not going to make me switch.

where the heck is the Area code (913) becuase thats where it's coming from.

Subaru, at first I thought you and a couple of other folks were the only ones not on the don't call me list. They use auto dialers and I'm betting there are not many numbers left in the pool.

Seems to me if you surrender and switch they'll stop calling but since you filed a complaint they'll probably pick up the pace. That sucks!

oh? they call more if you file a complaint?

Man.. they have been calling here for at least a good 3 years..

at this point I feel like Cussing them out.

I kid you not, their has NEVER been a day where they have not called..

Maybe now that Verizon is taking over maybe this shit can stop.

·CYBERONIC INTERN..

1. Get a call back number and "who should I ask for" (politely)

2. Then get serious.... "Two things please: Please place me on your Do-Not-Call List and also send me a copy of your Do Not Call Policy."

3. Get the caller's exact name, telemarketing service name, and the name of the company they're calling for, and supervisor name.

It's the Policy request that hack'em off.

Failure to provide the Policy is worth $500 to $1500 in small claims court. And calling again is worth $1500 in small claims court, separate claims. No waiting for the FTC or FCC, you sue them in small claims court.

If they don't give names, that's $500-$1500, too.

See »junkbusters.com for details on the law and the process.

You might also try complaining to mciusers@teleblock.com

I had to use this once but can't remember the outcome.
