anon : I'm in Vallejo and the Comcast connections have been all over the place recently. From around Weds. of last week through the weekend, I was seeing dramatic downstream speed drops in the 1300 - 2000 range from mid-afternoon into late evening. I called CC on Sunday and the rep got unacceptable ping times to my cable modem. He filed a report with the network group. On Monday afternoon, I power cycled the modem just for the heck of it and started to get DL speeds consistently in the 4500-4600 range with some bursts up to 5000. My previous high had been around 4100. That lasted until yesterday night when my speed dropped horribly and got as low as 330. And my latency went down dramatically. It gets up to about 100ms to local servers from 5-11 but its no where near as bad as the 400ms i was getting the 24.x.x.x ip that few months. Who knows if this has anything to do with it... Just an observation.

But, yeah.. it hasn't been stable in over 2 months, thats a long time to "troubleshoot" a problem.
