Someone did the math once, but I think it came out to 19 minutes for a Windows File and Printer Sharing (Broadcast Browser-based network) to detect a failure, force an election, and restore the network browser. That's why I say about 30 minutes -- 20 seems to close and if just one thing goes wrong ...

So be sure that any previous settings you had for the SP2 firewall are still set. Adapter-specific settings (which usually isn't the way most people configure the firewall) would be lost.

Reboot the machines.

If the machines connect to the internet okay, then just wait about a half-hour. More than likely, they'll sort everything out. If not, then check the Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) and look for references to NETBT or BROWSER.

Both running WinXP, D-Link latest drivers and the WPA2 update from Microsoft.

They could share drives and printer before but after moving to WPA2 they won't. They both run on static IPs and I changed nothing but the NIC driver and encryption.
