I wonder how the site operator knows what areas are actually covered. I didn't see a method of submitting a WISP entry so I'm not sure if the coverage data provided on the map is from actual WISP input or randomly selected input based on a 25 mile radius around a WISP's office location, for example.

All in all, very comprehensive, aside from the "get out of debt" ads. ;)

There are maps for each state that indicate areas covered by WISPs. I looked at the states that I have the most familiarity and it appears to me that it represents those states within reason.

For me this is useful since it indicates areas that are under-served and therefore presents opportunities for expansion.

I don't think that it is necessary to on at length about what is in your state or states that you know about....but it would be useful to comment on what you know about your state. It is good to keep in mind that this may not be a full accurate list, but from what I have seen so far...so good.

In Oregon, for example, the area around Eugene to the west shows that there is no service...and that is correct. It is a good area for anyone wanting to do WISP operations since there is a large number of rural homes in that area.

So on and so forth...

I realize that a recent poster was working on something similar for WISPA..so this might be a useful adjunct to that list as well.
