 | Grrr. This is an old topic, but here is a thought. You're telling me that when I record that tv show that aired while I was at work onto (vhs), tivo, dvd-r. And distribute it to a friend to view (free of charge) I'm committing an illegal act?
That is ridiculous. The industry lost this battle 20+ years ago. They need to give it up. As far as television is concerned. I shouldn't be castrated because I want to use a supped up version of VHS (ie: my pc). It does the same damn thing that a tivo does. I don't see all the fucking people with Tivo getting sued and threatened, nor do I see cd-r drives, dvd-r drives being taken off shelves because they are deemed illegal.
Hell its the same gay companies that make these devices and turn around and try to sue you because you used their product to rip them off. As I recall Sony was the first to really turn out cd-r drives and the cd media. Now they bitch because we find other uses than what they had originally intended so they get all bent out of shape. Instead of moving onto something new they sue us to get back "damages". |
