Re: Proper way to tuck shirt in

I assume you are a man.

Proper wrinkling is one reason natural cloths like cotton, wool and linen are much preferred for men's clothing over synthetic and synthetic blend fabrics.

Some wrinkling is normal with natural fiber cloth.

Wrinkle-free clothing looks cheap on a man.

1. If the wrinkles are excessive your shirts are too loose.

- Ask at a mensware shop for advice.

- Depending on how trim you are, shirts from a different maker, or shirts described as "tapered" or "fitted" shirts should solve your problem. If you have an extremely unusual body shape then you might need to have your shirts altered by a tailor.

What size neck, arms and waist do you have? How much loose fabric is there at the waist (in inches)?

Men return shirts that won't do up at the waist, whereas they will put up with shirts that ballon out a foot or two at the waist. With the number of overweight people going up in the USA, shirt makers are taking the easy step of increasing the waist sizes of their normal fit shirts. This is especially true for mail order places.

2. (a) Button your shirt before doing up your pants. That distributes the wrinkling evenly. (b) Once done up, smooth the shirt at the front a bit.

Remember, some wrinkling is necessary too look right.

Too much wrinkling around the waist means the shirt's waist is too big.

hahha, I know that wasnt meant to be funny but it was.

Go cheap and stick with a poly blend. Less wrinkles, stands up great. Looks good.
