I WOULDN'T...

I wouldn't buy phone service from my phone company, let alone TV.

Until Verizon matches or overdoes OOL in terms of speed and price, and without making me switch from MCI back to their overpriced POTS service, they will not see a penny from me. Ironically, if Verizon's merger with MCI is approved, I'll end up right back with them (well, at least I will be eligible for their DSL again).

Umm...you haven't heard of Fios? 15 megs down, 2 megs up, $49.95 per month. No phone line required. I believe that natches up quite nicely with OOL. Ooh, none of those pesky monthly caps either.

Yes I have, as a matter of fact. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment building, and provided that Verizon comes up with technology to accomodate such, they will be spending quite some time convincing our dinosaur board of directors to rewire the building for fiber. If they do manage to deliver it here, I am more than willing to give it a try (provided OOL doesn't upgrade themselves to faster speeds).
