| Cingular vs TMO Cingular disables manual searching of networks when you use their SIM card (at least with Cingular Orange, with Cingular Blue/ex-ATTWS you can still choose). I know for alot of frens this is a huge prob cause they are still in areas where there is dual Cingular/ATTWS towers, and their phone will refuse to roam onto the superior of the two networks even though they are both considered part of the same "network" now.
Tmobile, for the horrendus level of coverage they provide, really does have it up there with decent customer service, good plan prices, and reasonable contracts (no 2 year nonsense with them. Its good to know, that even if its a PR effort, that people down there can still make the calls they need to. | | JoeOnSunsetDoublethink Is Doubleplus Ungood.Premium join:2002-11-25 Ormond Beach, FL | That's interesting. I didn't know that... I'm a blue-side customer (hanging on). But naming all the networks "Cingular" would make sense for the people who have nationwide roaming-included plans... reduces the "will I get charged roaming even if my phone says T-Mobile?" calls. BUT, if they do this for people who have on-network only plans, that's nuts! I mean, lots of people don't know what the roaming indicator on their phone is, and only know they're roaming when their phone says another network name. | |
