duodec join:2004-06-23 Palatine, IL | Installation rebate problems Last year, an SBC RT was installed nearby; I kept waiting for Speakeasy to start providing service, but it looks like they won't be doing that; I signed up for Megapath 6M/608 ADSL static IP service in August to replace the much more expensive (and slower) Speakeasy IDSL. The contract included a rebate offer that covered nearly all the install and equipment costs.
On the evening of 8/31 I received the rebate email, referencing two rebates on their website. I didn't see the email until 9/1. On checking their website, turns out the rebates were for the order period ending 6/30/05 (my order was in August), and with a final postmark date of 8/31/05. The rebate info would not come up because of the passed final postmark date. I wrote back to Megapath via their portal on 9/1 explaining the problem.
I wrote again on 9/4 since there had been no response. I just wrote them again (9/7) because there was no response, but I checked the rebate page, and now the 'last order' date for the two referenced rebates shows 9/30/05... but the last postmark date is still 8/31/05, and the rebates will still not come up.
Anyone else running into rebate problems?

Apparently they've updated the final order date and postmark dates on the two rebates for my service; they are now listed in 'current' instead of expired, and I was able to do all the prep work and get the printed copies needed. I had to revisit the rebate page again to find out about the changes.
So I should actually get my money back, but Megapath customer service has really showed itself to be very poor so far. |
