How can you have a monoploy when there are alternatives? I think every area that has FIOS (and for at least the somewhat distant future that will get FIOS) has a cable TV provider as competition and all areas obviously can have Dish and DirectTV as competition. Verizon may have a POTS monopoly in an area, but not on video.
