 | still pricey I think that's still VERY pricy.. when you consider 'established' companies such as the local cable monopolies, satellite tv companies already have similar pricing for service... some of the 'administrative fees' seem very steep. Another thing is Verizon is using PROPRIETARY set-top equipment ONLY usable on that network.. and Verizon tv isn't everywhere yet, much less to say fiber. I doubt they'll get alot of people with those prices.. its not 15/2 for $44.95, its over-priced tv. Satellite has about the same service for about the same price and no real 'admin fees' although they tried doing that to the consumer and directv lost lots of customers to dish network over that fiasco. We've yet to see that 'sweet deal' for bundled customers? is it going to be 25% off, 40% off, 50% off these already skys the limit pricing?? $5-15 price cut per month isn't gonna cut it.. too many options on the table for many people, more if you live in a muni deployment on top of that.
I'm sorry, they could have done some other 'innovative' things like 'music on demand' over the set-top box also.. and DVR's are an 'upgrade' costing you $550 if you 'lose' it?? Way too steep.. the pent-up demand to get away from cable monopolies is all-but over since you have 2 satellite providers that bridged the gap between the old big-ugly-dish and the hardware to your pocket-book...
The only way to fix those plans without a sweet deal is unbundling the channel line-up.. letting you pick and choose what channels a-la-carte. in packages. I was expecting something more aggressive of a rollout.. but it looks like we'll have to wait for such a thing. | | | Why are people getting so lost in the admin fees? Who has read their FIOS contract and seen all of the fees that could of been charged for installation alone? How many people were actually charged? Comeon, you have to post rates for many reasons, some of which are legal and most of which are regulatory.
