Just got my v4 today. I was using an SB5101 which was good.

My signal levels improved slightly with the Linksys.
My signal levels for the 5101
Downstream Power: -4.2 dBmV
SNR: 36.2 dB
Upstream Power: 54 dBmV

BEFCMU10 v4
Downstream Power: -2.9 dBmV
SNR: 37.6 dB
Upstream Power: 53.5 dBmV

Speeds are awesome & I love the "Provisioned Rate" info.

Had to add one note: I did not replace or switch any cables.

Re: Got New Modem- It the New VERSION!!

And the v4 has started to show up in the warehouses in addition to the retail channel. I just helped a relative with a self-install of a Linksys v4 that was supplied with a self-install kit. (I *specifically* got asked because I'm both a former CHSI rep and did my own self-install five years ago, self-replaced the leased modem with a purchased modem the following year, and upgraded again two months ago.) Other than the modem being USB (and thus installing in Windows via Add New Hardware), the steps are no different than a new install via Ethernet.

Well.....I really don't need to tell you to keep an eye on your upstream power +54 dBmV is getting up there.:D

Ya, they won't give me a truck roll on 54. I did however reconfigure my splitters and got better signal levels.

Just to clarify for those who don't have the modem, you have the option to use either ethernet or USB. I use ethernet myself, so the install is no different than any other ethernet connected modem.

The Moto SB5100 and SB5120 are also like that.:)

Yes, even my older RCA DCM235 had those options. No adding hardware for me, ethernet here.

Woke up this morning and decided to check the signal levels on this thing. They seem very low but it still has sync and is running perfectly. The 5120 wont even sync with these numbers. I moved the run on saturday when mowing the yard. I wonder if that had anything to do with it. I wonder if Comcast will ever come bury it!

Lock Status Operational
Modulation 256QAM
Channel ID 1
Provisioned Rate 6600 kbps

Upstream Channel

Modulation 16QAM
Channel ID 4
Provisioned Rate 384 kbps
Symbol Rate 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream Power 54.5 dBmV
Well it was something busted in the system. Couple days later my 6412 started going goofy so I called them up. This modem rocks!

Hmm, I had the opposite happen here. Everything is about the same except downstream SNR. On my SB5100 it's always around 37dB and on the v4.Linksys it's an atrocious 28.5dB. Functionally, I didn't really test download rates much at all as my connection has been real spotty lately. I only bought the modem to see if the connection issues were due to my SB5100, which turned out to be innocent...

It works better then what I was able to get when @home was still around.
6600 up is what I am provisioned at.
