Re: RESCUE DOGS said by Flaggship: I have just been in touch with a Eukanuba/Iams rep and they are supplying dog food at the site and where they are being housed. They have also shipped in food to the local SPCA.
Just be assured that the four legged searchers are being cared for as well.
Just typical; My master gets the Good stuff to eat "Eukanuba / Iams". While us poor four legged searchers get Old Roy from Wally-World! Growl! -- My other computer is Environmentally friendly; it only draws 55.9KW. |

I would assume that they get torn up, so they need a continuing supply. There was a Canadian website where we could order them and they will be sent down, but do I remember the site? Of course not....UGH!!
God Bless the rescuers and their wonderful dogs.

One of my dogs name is Honey, her sister Nyssa is a SAR dog in NYC. Please pray for her and her owner Michelle as they go thru this difficult task. Before Tuesday I had many things on a wish list to buy, they are all on hold as I have given to Red Cross and supported the SAR people. Do what you can and lets get thru this together. I do not envy any of the searchers, but I will admire them for the rest of my life. -- Remember our fallen brothers. |

sydney078$From Beneath You, It Devours join:2001-06-10 Hurley, SD | Jeff- my prayers are definitely with your dogs sister and her owner. The dogs are working extremely hard during all of this. I sent what I could and told them to expect anothe rcall from me with 15 days for another donation. Maybe your sisters dog will get one of the cooling bandanas I sent- I asked if they could put Aloha and Good Luck in the Search - from HI- On them. She said they would try their best to do so -- Whatever part of you touches me, you won't be getting back! |

 | If any of you actually have contact witha SAR dog owner etc. Bring up the point if They'll get a medal for this. I'm sure they will. And you know, even though animals may not understand whats going on. The fact of the matter is THEY do this to make their owner happy. And in times like this, the OWNER needs to get over the sadness and I'm sure the dogs feel when their owner is hurt from seing the disaster over there, and the dog is their for comfort as well as help. I love my dog. Just today I opened the door to go outside and he knew i was getting up and dressed and when I open the door, he's there with his toy in his mouth. I just felt so good.
I'm sure the SAR team feels the same way when they see their dog ready to help save lives. -- Ruben Zamora ------------------- [DSLR]UT CLAN!!! |

A message from Iams/Eukanuba I got this email from my local Iams/Eukanuba rep tonite:
quote:
Just wanted to let you know that yesterday I received a voice mail from the company to let us know what they are doing as far as a donation. We have shipped in food to feed the rescued animals, the animals that were left at doggie day cares, the search and rescue dogs, bomb dogs at the New York airports and we have shipped food to the ASPCA.
We also work with the AVMA emergency vet team and they have food in their mobile unit which is located close to the "site". They are there to offer assistance to rescue dogs that might need assistance or dogs that were left that are in need assistance. The message also indicated that we would send food as long as it was needed.

I know that in the aftermath of the Oklahoma City bombing, the rescue dogs were getting so depressed, about not finding any survivors, that rescuers had themselves buried in rubble, so the dogs could find "live" people. I wonder if they will do the same for the dogs here? |

The company you are thinking of is called Muttluks,
this is a link to their site and where they would prefer any assistance to be forwarded.
