| The sad part of this story... As much as I despise the Music Industry and their greed, the real problem is with "us"..the consumer. The music industry can pull all this crap and the consumer just sits back and takes it.
How many people will sit there and complain about how much they hate the music industries tactics...and then stop by walmart on the way home from work and buy a cd? There are very few people that will actually stand up for what they believe..because usually standing up for a belief requires some personal sacrifice.
That sad part to this story is that the consumer base is turning into flock of sheep. There is a lot of complaining within those ranks...but the MAJORITY of the sheep just go wherever they are being herded.
I admire Jobs for standing up to the industry and I hope he continues to stand up to them...but in reality, this isn't Steve's fight. Its ours...the consumer...and so far we are all just sitting around and taking whatever crap the music industry dishes out. Steve won't be able reform the industries ways...only we can with our wallets. |
