[Messenger] MSN Messenger frequent disconnects on DSL

anon : Hello,
This problem has been occurring since I signed up for Sympatico's DSL in August. Basically, I route my Speedstream modem to a D-Link DI-624 router which provides us with wireless access. When I had just the modem (which has a router built in), MSN would disconnect and the internet would cease to work, both WIRED and WIRELESS.

Ever since I switched to the D-Link router, both WIRED and WIRELESS connections give me MSN disconnects; it doesnt matter which one I'm on. But, unlike before, my internet works fine during these MSN disconnects.

So I suspect it's a problem with the program, ports, or something. Anyone have any ideas? I'm using MSN Messenger 7.5, by the way, but the disconnects happened with all versions. On XP Home, and I'm using 128 bit WEP security (WPA-PKSP did the same thing).

Thanks for any help you can give,
Marc
