on a side note: my old ISP (midco.net) i paid 49.95 for 5down and 512up.. and they didn't really care for me using P2P apps..(IRC,Azureus)ive downloaded so much crap.. and really they didn't hassle me.. I'm curious how other BIG NAMES like COX, RR, Verizon, Adelphia)
Now to PIN POINT where I'm living its called "South Highlands" So please anyone that lives near this area please give me good responses on ISP's.. i know for a fact Cox is one of the big guns there.. so yea thanks.. because we'll be in Vegas in 2weeks but will be living with my bro-in-law for the mean time..

I have Cox in OKC and generally I think we can say that as long as you only go over their limits (yes, they have monthly download quantity caps) once in a while, they aren't going to say anything. However, if you routinely exceed the limits, you'll hear about it. Check in our »Cox HSI forum for more details. Cox is up front about their limits, so you should be able to read them and decide whether or not you are willing to abide by them before affixing your name to a contract and giving your word that you will abide by those terms.
Cox's Acceptable Use Policy is published here: »www.cox.com/policy/ and their Limitations (caps) policies are published here: »www.cox.com/policy/limitations.asp

| reply to Deft I'm new to Vegas, too. Been here a month. We built a new house and wanted COX.
Unfortunately, either the builder or COX goofed. I'm not sure which. But COX isn't available yet, more than a month after we have moved in.
Unfortunately I had to go with Sprint DSL. I will give them credit where it's due. I ordered on Thursday, got my modem, filters, etc. on Monday and was immediately up and going. Their price was good ($29.95 a month special for 12 months) and their service was excellent. Their speed stinks, though. I'm lucky to get 512/160 or so. It's not what I'm used to. But for $30 a month, I don't complain, either.
There are other options, but I haven't explored them. COX has a decent reputation around here, so if you can get them, I'd go that route. Once my contract with Sprint is up and I don't have to pay penalties by cancelling, I will be switching. I hope by then COX will be available in my house. -- Mospaw.com -- | |
