I don't know why they told you 10 days because we are not that far out on trouble calls but thats the callcenter for you. I hear it everyday about them and we are tring to resolve that problem. Call in and complain about what happend you might get a credit on your bill and it will help us out as well. |

I was told by business support that the only reason there pushing the DPC2100 is because that's the only modem they have tested. I bought the SB5120 for my home and have it running on the Edge just fine.
Here is my last speed test from the Speakeasy server in Atlanta.
Download Speed: 8304 kbps (1038 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 462 kbps (57.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
How they can not support this modem i don't know. Bfrye claims they use this modem and stay on top of the firmware.
Here is the quote. "We could push a newer firmware to the modem, let me know if you would like to try this. Also if you get a Motorola SB5120 we stay on top of the firmware on these because we supply these modems. Good modem. -cbf" |

I know we have been having alot of problems with 5100 and 5120 since we have been upgrading. Huntsville is trying to get away from them. |

It seems that the tech was full of crap. I have had the edge disabled since the tech came out and today I hooked the DPC2100 back up. It is running like absolute crap.
Last Result: Download Speed: 690 kbps (86.3 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 348 kbps (43.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
This absolutely sucks. This is crap. I already gave someone the surfboard as I was told there was nothing wrong with the DPC2100. So I am stuck with this. |

You could have an old rate plan. You could have a borderline signal. You could have packet loss. Your nic could be bad. Alot of different things could effect your speeds. im me and we will try to work on this if you want. |

If you look at my first post on this thread you will see what speeds I get with the surfboard. Over 4mbit. The line is good and the speeds in my location are fantastic. This modem has to be defective. I had great speeds with the old SA modem and the surfboard.
Thank you for replying. |

The 2100 is a good modem and it should be doing just as good as the 5100. We have had alot of problems with the 5100 and their config file. Bfrye could tell you all about it. But I strongly prefer the 2100 over the 5100 |

Send me the Mac address on the modem and we can have someone investigate the problem.
