Even a a real comparison of overall taxes paid, MA is only 18th. The biggest problem for MA is that only 75 cents of each dollar paid to the feds by its citizens are returned back to it. MA heavily subsidises all the bozo "red" states. Oh ya and what is the "Big Dig" costing in Boston.

Wyoming is very sparsely populated and we are also much larger then Massachusetts. The Fed's mandate "The Defense Interstate highway System" will be built to their specifications. The State of Wyoming is charged with the construction and matinance of these roads. Wyoming is paid to do this. More miles of highways equals more money.

As for complaining about our small population there is only one thing to say, you can kiss a green grass eating cow's ass. We like our wide open spaces, Yellowstone Park, Grand Tetons, Devils Tower, and miles and miles of land and Sky.

Waltham, MA | Indeed - the wide open spaces are nice to visit (I actually like Wyoming as a place and have been 5 times now), but I sure as hell wouldn't live there!
I like civilization, and my very well paid job. I can go see yellowstone and the tetons anytime I want.
