Re: Remove this story immediately!

The big dig cost about 15bn dollars OVER THE LAST 15 years.
MA taxpayers give the feds approx 60 bn A YR.
The Big Dig is chump change.

Oh, and per capita, Wyoming absorbs about 10 times as much of the federal highway budget. Hows all those subsidies working out for ya?

Ah the traditional eastern gripe about Federal taxes. Wyoming is very sparsely populated and we are also much larger then Massachusetts. The Fed's mandate "The Defense Interstate highway System" will be built to their specifications. The State of Wyoming is charged with the construction and matinance of these roads. Wyoming is paid to do this. More miles of highways equals more money.

tell me again why i should subsidise your decision to live in the middle nowheresville? A large chunk of those dollars pay for stuff other than interstates.

because we love to hear you Boston assholes bitch and moan, because that is one of the few things you New England "Easterners", a term of great derision in these parts, can do that isn't taxed. As for complaining about our small population there is only one thing to say, you can kiss a green grass eating cow's ass. We like our wide open spaces, Yellowstone Park, Grand Tetons, Devils Tower, and miles and miles of land and Sky.

Indeed - the wide open spaces are nice to visit (I actually like Wyoming as a place and have been 5 times now), but I sure as hell wouldn't live there!
I like civilization, and my very well paid job. I can go see yellowstone and the tetons anytime I want.
