mloebl : I think this is more an argument on abuse of service than "unlimited" usage. The 2 guys who got the letter said they are downloading games, and game updates, as well as songs from Napster. They also are using this as a dedicated Internet connection to which the letter does allude to. All of those are clearly defined in the TOS as violations.

However I do believe Verizon Wireless is misleading people a bit with their new advertising campaign of "Why use coffee hot spots when you can use us almost anywhere..."

-Mike

TKJunkMail : Verizon lays out on their web page and in their customer agreements what "Unlimited" means. The old adage "Buyer Beware" applies. »www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/prom···iniStart
NationalAccess and BroadbandAccess data sessions may be used with wireless devices for the following purposes: (i) Internet browsing; (ii) email; and (iii) intranet access (including access to corporate intranets, email and individual productivity applications like customer relationship management, sales force and field service automation). Unlimited NationalAccess/BroadbandAccess services cannot be used (1) for uploading, downloading or streaming of movies, music or games, (2) with server devices or with host computer applications, including, but not limited to, Web camera posts or broadcasts, automatic data feeds, Voice over IP (VoIP), automated machine-to-machine connections, or peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing, or (3) as a substitute or backup for private lines or dedicated data connections.
All "Unlimited" means is that there is no SET number of minutes or data transfers attached to the plan.
