eventually she'll get a 5.4 transplant and 4:10's.

chriswelch : I Own a 2003 focus, zx5...fully loaded, heated seats, one touch sunroof..5 speed 2.3l....its a nice car...dads got a whole collection tho..he has a 1963 ford fairlane gts sport coupe which is red..and fully restored..he also has a 1963 fairlane base model(black)..which is also a full restore...then he bought a 1967 fairlane..which is beige and he loves it...his pride and joy though is his 1979 cutlass supreme..he has also fully restored it...hes got a 1986 ranger that he did a 5.0l conversion on...its nice..jet black long box...
ill put pictures up when i get home of all the cars...
oh and his everyday driver is a 1992 acclaim lol...its a big POS and he drives it everyday...who knows why

i hated to do it but i had to send the honda to heaven. after my troubles I found out they phucked up my car and were just waiting for me to call for the repairs. in any case, i found this one to be cute. top motor mount was shot to hell when i got it but it drives like a new car now, changed the temp sensor, tuned it up and definitely changed the oil, altho the previous owner took very good care of it, and kept all the papers to prove it. had i think 142k on the clock. i've heard stories about saturns, but i've seen good saturns on the road when people take care of them.

it's small for a wagon but i like it :)

1955 Ford Couriers. My dad has my great uncle's original (black,photo lifted from identical rig) with I6. I have one i bought (red) with a 302 that kinda works. Both need a fair amount of work at the moment tho. Stored in a garage for a pair of cruisers in the future :)

ropeguru : I drive a 1994 Ford F150 with the 5.0L engine. Get around 17 MPG whether road or in town. The second car is a 2003 Toyota Corolla and we get around 30 MPG in town and closer to 40 MPG on the road.

Old Opel Sportwagon with a small Camero V6, the original 4 speed and 3:67 rearend. Stoplight Sleeper :) No indication of the extra 50% engine size except under the hood.

Daily driver, not that i drive it daily, is a 91 Explorer Sport.

It only happened that one time...

The blower motor is to help circulate hot air from the heater boxes up to the vents in the cabin. It helps make the heat somewhere between "nonexistent" to "mediocre".

Yeah, I never used the Sport mode at first, thinking it was going to suck... but actually, it does work really well and use it from time to time.

My Vespa doesn't have that mode. ;) It goes up to a particular rev and stays there for as long as I have the throttle cracked open. It's cool, because it must be nailing the torque peak perfectly. The bike accelerates really well for a measly 200cc.

Count Zero : You have an LA120? We used to have 3 acres of land out in the country side (actually we had 8, but only had to mow 3 of them) but now my Mom is in a subdivision and just has 3/4 an acre - a riding mower makes that quick work.

bent : Was thinking about getting an FJ, but I got this instead. Just seemed better put-together. The only mods so far as tearing off the lame plastic mud flaps that got shredded the first time I took on anything worse than a dirt road. In the future are a 3" suspension lift, some mud terrains; under body armor, rock rails, front and rear bumpers from shrockworks; nice ramsey winch; yak basket with brackets for the hi-lift and shovel, multi-band din mount radio with short whips on the basket.

Edit: oh yeah. And XM. You still get it at 13k feet ;)

Nhatters : It was in Galveston, Texas. We went to the residential area and basically had that section of the beach to ourselves. Had a dolphin swim up near us, and two schools of fish swim right THROUGH us. It was eerie seeing so many eyes and mouths pop up around you.

US_1st_Cav : Yup, it's a TT, 6sp.It's BPU.Downpipe, CAI, 18psi boost, exhaust, BCC, Cam gears etc...It'll slam you back into your seat, when the 2nd turbo joins in the fun. :)

damn : I don't know if there's a way to read knock count on supras, but you should get a logger or Knockbox or something like that so you won't destroy the engine. I can turn up boost to 20 psi on my car too, engine will not last long though. Daily drivig is 12-14 psi.

US_1st_Cav : As far as I know, it's still the stock fuel system.Other then a Boost cut controller I believe(or fuel cut controller?).On pump fuel.I'm going to turn the boost down to 17 psi or less.I have yet to get the boost past 15 psi. :p The fuel octane here in CO is a lot lower then where I bought it in NJ.But the original owner says it'll do 20psi on pump fuel with no problem.
By the way, is the Stealth twin turbo a V6?And have you done any mods?

That depends on where one is outdoors. Tramping through the snow to figure why the third car from the bottom tripped the defect detector is no way to see the outdoors and guess what unless there is a third party on that train the guy on the left does the walking. ;-)

We also have a '02 Toyota Highlander V-6 but it's not driven much. I'd like to have just two cars (cause it's just my girlfriend and I) but keeping the 4 cyl. Honda because of my commute and gas prices. I save a gallon/day driving it
so it more than pays for itself even with the extra insurance cost.

It's black on black. No plans to get the windows tinted, but my brother's been driving me nuts about it.

Black, when kept clean, is the most bad ass looking color on a cool looking car like yours and tint will make it even more bad ass looking. That and where you are located just about screams out.."Tint Me"...So I'm with your brother on that. Even if you only get a light tint, it will make your black car stand out so much more not to mention help against that hot sun down there..

And if you haven't already, pick up The Original California Car Duster to use even daily for a couple of minutes to keep the dust off that black..

Count Zero : '07 Accord EX-L 4-cyl/ w/o navi, 4 miles on ODO when I test drove it. Beautiful car and a very smooth ride - great deal for the money. Having bad luck with it though -- I've already had 2 dents put in it and I just got it in February.

it's probably like texas... 35% up front and 20% on the back doors and back glass...

I just had a very reputable shop do 20% (devoid of their usual logo, obviously) all way round for $100 and it looks great! its really nice to have the privacy... and I haven't had any troubles with the law even though I work 6pm-2am driving every night nearly 200 miles..YMMV

Nhatters : I love that blue from VW. My friend had a Passat that was that color with a 15% tint and it looked extremely nice.

The interior looks like it's in great shape for 63K miles too.

Grocery getter and family car is a 2001 Honda Odyssey with 165k miles (wife drives it mostly around with the kids in it)

Fun and track car is a 1996 Ford Probe GT with 110k miles. Upgraded suspension, headers, exhaust, intake, Megasquirt (standalone aftermarket EFI), coilpacks, bigger injectors, lowered, turbo in progress etc etc

All cars were bought new with less than 20 miles from the dealer.

It has the original (rebuilt now of course) 780 cfm #4150 Holley on the stock aluminum hi-rise manifold. The only non-stock item on the whole car are the headers although I'm currently searching for the original exhaust manifolds. I've found the left hand manifold but am having trouble finding the right. (Wishing I hadn't thrown away those exhaust manifolds so many years ago! Who woulda thunk??? :huh:)

06 CR-V EX, not a 07 (sadly?)

I bought it new in June (traded in my old 2001 Dodge Ram 1500SLT Quad Cab for the sake of some fuel efficiency!) and I've driven it a total of 7000 miles so far. It has been problem free ever since, so its a cool car. Changed the oil at 5000 and I can't wait until it reaches 10k! :D

Anyway, my driver is a 1995 V6 4x4 Nissan P/U with oversized tires, the factory sport/alloy wheels, custom sound, SmittyBuilt nerf bars, grill guard with Hella fogs and an Ultimate canopy.

But my 1969 Z28 Camaro (which I've owned since 1974), all numbers matching, original untouched DZ 302 motor and 72K on the odometer, is my pampered baby!

The Nissan's a great little truck and a marvelous, reliable vehicle but driving the "Z" is like re-experiencing the first time you made love! :D

Actually it's not to bad considering she can refuel while shes in motion and grass is free. ;) Sustaining a decent speed for any given length of time is difficult making long trips (more then 5 miles) rather impossible unless I have several days to get there. :)

Right now we have a 1995 F-150 and a 2005 Ford Escape hybrid. Once the Escape is paid off, I was pondering which car to buy next to replace my truck. On the list are: Fusion, G6, and of course, a Mustang!!!

I'd really like to get a Mustang GT but I have a bit of a problem: my wife can't drive a stick and last time I tried to teach her (back in the 80's), it didn't go well at all. If I get a Mustang, I'd like to get a stick.

Anyone else here ever overcome the problem of a spouse not wanting a stick? If so, how'd you get your significant other to accept and drive it?

Normally I suppose this wouldn't be a problem, but both out vehicles are used about 50-50 between us. I use the Escape when my wife isn't to save gas. It really works well and because i\of this, we really only need one high MPG car.

What to do, what to do.... I still have a year to convince her, but I'm not sure that'll be enough time! :D

After all the hoopla I made about Toyota this and Toyota that, I stepped back and took a long, hard look at my truck. The alignment was screwy and could not be fixed, the two passenger side doors rattled incessantly, the rear suspension squeaked, the drivers door and front fender didn't line up correctly and there were a few other very small issues with it...I've wanted a new body styled 'Stang since '05 but they were junk back then. Seems they have the bugs worked out of them now and so I jumped on this...I know the truck will hold it's value better but hey, I got what I really wanted and that was a killer looking car for a great price. I don't need the GT, if I wanna go fast I'll jump on the 109. (see avatar) :D

I love the car, handles great, feels great, and everyone tends to fall asleep in the car even when driving at 60-90mph. Don't know why really, but they tell me its a really smooth ride. Makes me feel better that I got it.

I like to step on it, and rev the engine a lot, and I like to drive fast, and I also drive on the streets a lot.

To end this little story, I most then anything love the part that I get an average of 31-36mpg :) ; imagine if I only drove highway!!! Can't wait for school to start next month and I start driving 35miles per day on the highway.

Dest : if you look into this somemore, you would know 23-24mpg is average for this car.

I don't do jack rabbit start and I don't redline my car, I use cruise control on highway to save gas, and I don't race anybody. I'm not a granny driver, but there's still fair number of car who acclerate faster than me at a stop light(and not racing!)

just that this car don't have great MPG, and a hummer have worse MPG then this car, so a granny driving a hummer would still get worse mpg than if i drive my car like i stole it.
So if I go and race a corolla I will still probably get better MPG than a granny driving my car.

my comment was that I wish my car have better MPG in general.

2005 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL (3.5L 250hp V6)

Both are awesome cars, for different reasons. The '00 Alty is a workhorse -- I drive it ~100 miles/day to and from work, and it just keeps on ticking.

The '05 is a blast to drive -- lots of fun, rides very smooth, and takes off like a bat out of hell. The Tiptronic 5-speed helps too :)

My wife bought the '00 new before we were married. I bought an '00 Pontiac Grand Am around the same time.

By late '04, I had enough of Pontiac and their intake manifold problems, so we traded it in for the '05 Alty. Would have been great, except that for mileage reasons, my wife took it from me, so now I get the "old" car. :)

Highly recommended -- looking forward to getting another 4 years out of the '00 Alty so I can buy a brand new '10. :)

So how did you do on a road course against the Cobalt SS/SC? I know pulls on us in 3rd, but I noticed that on road courses the Cobalt made up for the speed difference in late braking and handling.

In winter I do 38-42 mpg

If I take it everyday of the week, which I don't always do it saves me about $200 a month in gas over the Magnum, but every bit counts.

It is not a highway car that is for sure :)

The '94 runs like a charm, and I can't remember a single problem arising other than regular maintenance.

Wife's 1997 Red Pontiac Grand Am GT (3.1 v6) - 113,000 miles.

1993 Geo Metro 1.0 3cyl (The Magnum's Mini Me)- I picked up for $800 that has 39,000 miles. That is the gas sipper and dog hauler. Even has AC that works.

Yeah bro, the Supercharger is Manual only. I only buy manual transmissions, that is all I have owned since I was 16 and I am 27 now. Just abit off topic, but the cool thing about manuals is that in the Navy most people can drive them, even the women. I guess it's because people that join the Navy are very technically/mechanically inclined.

There are 2 SS versions. One with a manual transmission and supercharger, rated at little above 200bhp. The other option for the SS is the automatic transmission, an ectotec that has around ~ 170bhp. I believe it is a 2.4 litre, but I am not completely sure....

The old timer who owned it took his two galvanized trash cans to the dump every Sunday, then parked the pickup back in his shed for the rest of the week. When the truck was over 40 years old, it didn't look too much different than when it rolled out of the showroom. I had a w**dy for that truck like there was no tomorrow. I bugged the guy for years to sell it to me, but he wanted to keep it. His nitwit nephew ended up with it.

The name of the color is Superior Blue. I bought it new from Paramus Auto Mall RT17 in NJ. This is a unique ride and surprisingly comfortable. You should definitely check it out.

13120635 : I have a 2001 F150 Lariat with a 4" lift, built to the hilt. 450HP 5.4 liter with many mods. Flowmaster exhaust. My wife found it for me and now she pretty much hates it because it guzzles gas. :)

She drives a RAV4. Gets great gas mileage and the little thing is awesome in the winter.

Occasu : The headlights you mean? The headlight bulbs are hyper white (bought them at a flea market for $15 Canadian :D). The fog lights have a blue lens cover, but are a normal yellow-ish color when turned on (go figure lol).

AMDGamer : I drive a Silver 2002 Dodge Neon R/T. It's pretty peppy when you want it to be, but of course, it doesnt have a V8. I have a few things done to it:

Cold Air Intake
Step Tube Long Tube Header w/ 1-7/8" primaries and 2.5" merge collector
Solid Racing Mounts
Urethane Shifter Bushings
Upgraded sway bars 29mm/24mm, stock was 22/19
Lowered about 1.5" all the way around
Stiff Tokico Struts to compensate for drop...also warrantied for it. I am awaiting my Koni inserts to arrive and be installed.

BTW, I'm not a ricer---no stickers or rice cannon here.

130k miles mint condition. had to replace front right headlight when i hit a deer. that was it. got a 12 disc cd changer for christmas this year. other than it runs fine. Need new tie rods and a serpentine belt in may or june according to the ford shop here.

SuperJoker : 1988 Ford Escort LX, It's not sure If It's a car or a rolling repair bill(previous owners lack of maintenance) as I still have an estimated $1600.00 worth of repairs to It to go and that doesn't include any minor body work or painting, Just Right axle, Tie rod, alignment, AC repair & upgrade from R12, installing electrical parts(speedometer[to replace broken gas gauge], hatch light switch[from a 1990 Mustang hatchback light switch, maybe, It looks the same as the stock 1988 Escort part at least], turn signal switch[barely works], brake warning light[brakes work fine, go figure], broken grill, hood release cable, worn shocks/struts and fix the stock radio or just replace It.

About the only parts I can't find are the window weatherstripping that touches the windows at the bottom of the windows in the passenger doors(It's a 2dr hatchback, A body shop may be able to get that for Me, maybe) and of course a grommet for the Kickdown function of the transmission(It allows the Kickdown rod from the Automatic Transmission to connect to the Kickdown Linkage to allow the transmission to shift up or down[It's located on the right side of the engine when the hood is up or on the left when one is inside the car driving], It's a car with TBI of course). I wonder what other Ford car of recent years uses a system like this?

Eric : I do my best to keep that truck real clean. It's an XL with an all vinyl interior and is a breeze to clean.
Hubcaps? No way, I think the winter wheels on the steelies look bad-ass this time of year. The summer tires are on a set of VW 6 spoke 17 in. aluminum wheels. It more than makes up for the steelies.

Cody : Just bought an 05' Hyundai Accent on the 3rd after the Transmission in my 96 corolla went. It's a white 5spd (I really wanted a 5spd over an auto and they only had white and light blue in manual - left) with about 700 miles on it (had 8 when I bought it - I work far from home). I like it so far, decent gas mileage, I've only filled once, and got 30mpg. The warrantee really attracted me since I'll be using this throughout college, and didn't want to have a car payment AND have to replace things on it. I found one with A/C and I got it under the listed base price for no options on the hyundai website. Hyundai of Everett did very well by me, a lot better than the other 3 places I went around here

sawman : Tractor had broken down. Had to get the cars rolling then jump out and remove hook and jump up on rail car and apply brake before ran out of siding.
Made for some anxious moments when the hook would hang up some. Never did drag the tractor or my truck though thank goodness. Pathfinder still has original clutch too!
Lost a loaded car of wheat on the main line one day when it hopped over the derail and took off headed east. 800 number I had for railroad lady asks me if I want to BILL it. I was thinking some 80 mile an hour freight train MIGHT be headed right for it!

Well, I currently have two vehicles, mine and the wifes. I drive the 1996 F350 truck pictured above with a 7.3L diesel engine. 140k miles on it and I do my own work on it.

The wife drives the 2001 Jetta 1.8t. We've owned it since day 1 and it has almost 100k miles on it. With the exception for the strange electrical gremlins we've found in it, I do my own work on it too.

I've owned two Audi's (1984 4000q and a 1991 80q), two other VW's ('86 Golf and '84 Quantum), an '82 Jeep CJ5, and an 80-something Buick Century. In a past life I think I was a mechanic, and I look to start it again after I retire. So remember, I'm not a mechanic, but I did stay at an Holiday Inn Express last night ;).

americanada : Agreed, the back seat is not a nice place to be on long runs (something Dodge fixed with the 2006 Mega Cab Ram)...but it does make a good place to put a couple of 10" or 12" subwoofers underneath! :)

Only thing left for me to buy is a sheetmetal intake and a set of some nice cams. Other then that, there really isnt anything else I can do other then move up to a sc61 turbo and start putting out some real power.

Nice, before we brought a Grand Marquis, we had a 1987 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency. It had 187K miles on it before we donated it to charity. It was a very comfortable & responsive vehicle. Only problems we had were the AC and roof leaks. I think my old man still misses that car :-)

Probably going to sell the '89 Formula too but not for a while yet. Yep...I love the domestics. Grew up in Detroit and raised by autoworkers so I guess it's genetic. :D

Descent : I've got a blue two tone 95 nissan maxima with 117000miles. its the v6 3.0L 190hp engine. I put on 17 inch 350z wheels with 235/50 front and 245/50 rear tires. I'm going to lower it soon.

I've installed my aiwa cd/mp3 player into the factory bose system. then i installed, wired, and setup my LA 900watt amp and Infinity 12' sub. i am getting a second sub soon

As much as I love motorcycles, I'll always be afraid to get on one because I always have this fear of being hit by someone on the freeway, especially a drunk driver. Once you get hit, you go down hard. When you go down, you just pray your gear & helmet will protect you. A motorcycle is so unsafe :-(

Dragasoni : I drive 1998 Nissan Altima with 221,000 miles. I bought it with 32,000 miles almost 5 years ago, and everything is original except the alternator and CV joints. The car just keeps on running and has started everytime I've turned the key. It's made serveral trips from Florida to New York. I'd say the mileage is about 70% highway and 30% city. This has been the most reliable car I've owned.

lupinia : The Rover is currently my daily driver. The picture is fairly current, but I've added some floodlights on the roof since then for trailriding at night. Once I get some money flowing in, it'll be my project vehicle.

The Integra is sort of the backup vehicle for my boyfriend and I. He's been driving it for the last few months while we get his Rabbit working. I've had it since my senior year of high school, but there's nothing overly special about it.

The Rabbit is my boyfriend's baby, and the vehicle that's taught me to be a mechanic. It's an excellent project car, but I don't really have any current photos of it. This was taking about a month ago, when we installed an uber-rare Hella light/grille kit that was only made in 1985, quite a find!

I used to run a mix of premium (97 Octane) and Turbo Blue (105 Octane) to keep it a bit cheaper to run.. But since gas prices hit the roof.. Turbo Blue is actually a better buy at 4.60 a gallon. Besides.. it smells good!

Add in that I drive a full size truck and the wife's SUV. Fuel efficiency? Haha

chesney09 : The Chevelle has always been a chevelle, just not an SS. The 427 was out of a 69 Vette. Bored out. runs 11:1. She is a beast. I actually just got her a couple weeks ago, so detailing and updating some stuff is in progress for the winter.
The converter - Yea.. It is nuts. It is currently set up to drag. (I never will). I am not sure where redline even exists and really don;t car to find out either. I am still learning about the car as I go.

The GOAT is the baby though.. She is a gentle giant that can get up and go as well.

I am pretty sure both cars are around 450-500HP
