| Just a follow-up to this problem.
My Series III box bit the dust Saturday night.
Not sure why, but it just went off and kept blinking 8888.
Anyway, I went to Comcast on Sunday (gotta love Sunday hours)and turned that box in and they gave me a Series I model. After all the bad things I've heard about Series I boxes, I politely asked for a Series III box. She said that this was their newest box. I tried to let her know that I comes before III and that Motorola had a newer box, but she wouldn't back off that this was their newest and greatest box. I reluctantly took it home. The close captioning works great in all modes. Go figure. It is in an enclosed entertainment center so the fan's noise is not an issue. Will have to wait and see if we get an of the Series I problems that others have complained about. |
