Yeah right

I'll believe it when I see it. This sounds like a fabrication.

Then you'll probably see this as the first time then. The government wants all the 700Mhz and 800Mhz frequencies, why would they give Sprint some back for the iDen network? This article makes absolutely no sense.

Makes sense. . . .DOD gets CONUS network with CCI handsets and CCI text messaging devices (Crackberries). DHS and Feds have had CCI handsets for years on IDEN.

HUGE COUP for /\/\ if true....all IDEN infrastructure including subscriber devices..../\/\ = Sole Supplier

Big Play for Sprint if this can be executed!

The only reason the government wants those frequencies is so they can turn around and re-sell them. This deal might be just as good.

The bills by McCain and such only use 9/11 and Katrina to light a legislative fire under the ass of broadcasters to expidite the shift to all digital. And I'd assume, some of the legit government communications problems could be fixed by a deal ike this.

No, the government and first responders want the frequencies so that they aren't interfered with by the private sector like they are now.

Yeah, ok. I should rephrase that: "94% of the reason is that the government wants those frequencies is so they can turn around and re-sell them."

I personally hope they dont... I just bought new phones and am getting along fine on the IDEN system.. I aint ready to buy 3 new phones and contracts again as I'm sure they (sprint) wont offer anything compatable and if they did I could only hope its better than their local wireline service we have..
