Worse than that, when former Nextel customers get bumped to the 2.5GHz band, dropped calls and no service, or spotty service will become the norm. I sure will miss the 850 band with it's relatively long-range propogation and reliable coverage. Nextel was the only provider in recent years using this band, and the only provider with spotless coverage in my rural area. Having a cell phone was nice. Guess I better get used to things they way they were pre-cellular days...

Uhh... Verizon? Alltel? US Cellular? All operate on the 800MHz band in my area. Nextel, Sprint, Cingular, T-Mobile all have no service here.
