Sprint gets prime NLOS spectrum, which WISPs cannot get for love or money, without having to go through a pesky bidding process or share the spectrum. Meanwhile, wireless broadband providers who are out there in the trenches TODAY trying to make use of overcrowded Part 15 spectrum will be left to hang with nothing. Seems to follow the usual government pattern these days: Support rapacious large corporations, from whom they expect (and often get) large campaign contributions, at the expense of small businesses. |
