| | | Re: Based on that Logic "What a line of crap. Where does it end? If I travel to New York on a business trip, does that mean I'll have to pay NY income tax an any money I make on that trip?"
actually listen to this one, the IRS was telling pilots of non USA airlines that they were suposed to pay income tax on the portion of their flight/wages that was flown inside USA air space
nice eh? | |
| | | | Re: Based on that Logic Typical, typical, typical. Typical goverment greed. Nothing more, nothing less. How much do they actually even gain from this anyway? Not that it matters to them anyway, because all they want is MORE MONEY TO SPEND ON B.S. PROJECTS, ETC. Using their own line (politicians'), don't you know that guy in Tennessee isn't paying HIS FAIR SHARE OF TAXES! Pleeeeeeaaaaaaaaasssssssse! Politicians' never, ever seem to have enough money to spend and they always try to find ways to get more.
Just another way for them. Tax everyone to death.

There is a movement right now thats trying to put forth a bill that will totally revamp the tax system in America( because it REALLY needs it). »www.fairtax.org/ If enough people speak up( to their congressmen and representatives), they will have to listen.

Ive read through just about the whole proposition and so far Ive seen every base covered. Its pretty simple, you spend, you pay,..you save, you dont pay. Your compensated for your necessities spending every month. Im curious to see what angle I may have missed.

Others include: 1. A booming market for used goods 2. An even more likely a huge boom in all sorts of underground (black) markets. 3. Internet purchases? Would mandatory 'net taxes be ok? Cause this plan will surely require them. 4. The burden on the poor. While the 'prebate' is a neat idea, I'm skeptical. 5. Gov't spending. Will excessive government spending decrease under a new tax plan? 6. Ties our federal/state revenues even tighter to economic performance. If a recession hits, I hope we have good credit...
I agree taxes suck and our current method sucks hard. I'm all for reform...but I'm also very suspect of any solution that puts faith in companies lowering prices and 'doing what's right'. And the Rich will *always* find loopholes, "That Yacht is not for ME, it's for my business"
I'm not totally against it, I just think there are problems with it...chiefly trusting Capitalism as a cure for all ills. KM

As for some of your points, all I can offer is opinion, as I see. 1. A bigger market for used products might not be all that bad. If your a working poor, you can save some money as a consumer in that area. Also, knowing how most Americas crave for the newest, fastest, latest and greatest,.... 2. Yes, an underground market could arise, not that we dont have one already. But, most average consumers may not spend the effort to find these markets. Its not like they could advertise or hang a big sign out. Both of our opinions are just speculations at the moment though. 3. Yes, if it is a new purchase. 4. The prebate is written into the bill. If your working poor, you keep your money and have the chance to spend on what products you can afford. ( as in point 1). If you dont work, nothing really changes. 5. Totally different subject,.... one problem at a time. All though, something that needs improvement not matter what plan is in effect. 6. I would like to think that our economy would only get better if this plan takes its place( new business and investing). Nothing can really be recession proof, but a good strong economy will be able to take a hit and come out allright. Yes loophole for the ones who can afford them is not right. Like i said, these are just my opinions.( I am NOT rich at all, btw) Please, write to the people at the fair tax HQs. Let them know about your concerns. Maybe theres something that can be done about them. All I know is what we have now is NOT fair. A link to John Linders FAQ. »linder.house.gov/_pdfs/FairTaxFr···ions.pdf
