ricep5Premium join:2000-08-07 Jacksonville, FL | BS Field Tech I spoke with a BS field tech today and he said they are having a meeting tomorrow to review the support for the new service.
I asked about the 5000 feet to CO question and he basically said it depends on how it is trunked back to the CO.
Copper to Fiber trunk, Copper to T1 trunk, or Copper to a Bundle trunk.
The first is desirable, the last is not.
If there is any 26 gauge copper between you and the trunk or CO, you can pretty much forget about it. The other trunks are dependent on the electronics installed at the trunk box.

 | He was wrong. You can have 26 gauge. It doesn't matter if it is fed by fiber,copper,t1,etc.....It only matters where the dslam is placed,in the field or in the CO |

He said the crosstalk on the older 26 gauge would cause problems if its a long distance from the DSLAM. |

 | Yeah, that's right. The key words are LONG DISTANCE, more than 20,000ft. |

In the event you may be wrong, (is that possible?) we can let you know just as quickly. |
