That being said; I understand the bottom line and you must use the numbers which are both in your favour and the sites favour.
Keep up the good work and thanks for creating this place to begin with. -- Put your PC to work!-Telesat Ka-band 1mb/256kbps-3 XP PC's-WRT54GS |

It doesn't -- the name remains the same. What's being redirected is the domain. |

| reply to Luvfishin yes it sucks. As WCB points out, it also impacts forum URL renaming. It is all about inbound links.
Right now every new inbound link is 50% going to be BBR and 50% going to be DSLR. If it is one, and not the other, then the other doesn't get the benefit.
Perhaps it was better to take the pain 2 years ago and just totally disable dslreports.com, but that could have killed us. We get 30,000 home page visits a day from anonymous users who get there via google high ranked hits. If that vanished overnight, then rose only slowly, the site might literally never recover. |

Ok, now you're just being a meanie and trying to give us nightmares.
I'm failing to grasp the aversion to a transparent redirect. Does it matter how we get here as long as there is a "here" to get to?
Whatever is most profitable should be the way to go, that's an absolute no-brainer, this is a business, after all. -- Get your daily dose of wonder from the Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD).

Umm, yeah, it is. I'm not talking about the site/you having an aversion to it, I'm talking about the people complaining. -- Get your daily dose of wonder from the Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD).
