OtherguyTX : I am just north of I635 and MacArthur BLVD and I am having speed issues as well. Going to the Speakeasy speed test I only get 4.2Mb where I used to see 6+Mb. Downloading headers for my newsgroups is so bad that I have to stop the download before I go to bed.

Maybe it is time to give Comcast a call again.

anon : McKinney, TX. is having the same issue.
My SB4100 modem is working great (when the head office stops pushing the wrong config file to it) but just before the Thanksgiving holiday, the service took a nose dive. The same pattern as noted above. I thought it was my gear but two neighbors (with different modems, different or no router) had the same issue.

Rethynson : I'm in dallas as well, around haskell ave and 75. Latency and packet loss have pretty much gone to hell for the last week. It clears up from time to time during the day, but has been awful for the most part.
Last time this was happening, comcast was working on something down the line, even though the tech support said everythign was working just fine.
Done all the standard resets, check connections, etc and no change.
I'll be calling comcast tonight and maybe get a tech in the next 2 weeks.

I'll also post all info/specs once I get home from work.

toujoursdan : Currently in Dallas (near i-30/Fergeson, east of downtown)

During the day my internet service seems fine. But since last Wednesday from about 5.00-9.00pm speeds become slow to nothing, then a few normal page loads, back to slow, slower, nothing.

Sometimes it is so bad that I am disconnected from Trillian and my VOIP phone service goes dead.

I have done the power on and off with my cable modem and my router. I have tried to bypass the router, and have connected my PC and laptop directly to the modem. Now Comcrap wants to send a tech out. It seems pointless during the day though because it's fine then.

Suggestions on what to do? Any other Dallas people having the same issue?
