Computer Hardware Help → thinkpad 600x usb problem

i have intel 82371 chipset and trying to get hi speed usb device to work but wont says not controller installed when i look for drivers have no luck anyone please help

1. Right Click on "My Computer" and go to properties
2. Click on the Hardware Tab
3. Click on Device Manager
4. Scroll down to your USB controllers
5. Right click on one of the root hub controllers and select "update drivers"
6. If you have XP SP1 or higher installed (I assume you have XP) it will auto find and replace the usb 1.1 drivers with the usb 2.0 drivers!

If you were unable to update the drivers the specific root hub select another controller and repeat the process untill all controllers are updated to 2.0 standards.

have service pack 2 xp and tried that too but doesnt help just says this device could run faster with a hi speed port says it hsas no hi speed port
