Dopephish : Just got an email from them:
============
Dear Valued Customer,

We regret to inform you that we are unable to continue with the AwakeTel Unlimited plan and effective Wednesday, December 14th at 12:01 am CST the plan will be discontinued.

Because of this, we would like you to consider joining our per-minute calling plan (which provides the same quality network and service) and we are prepared to offer you 3 exciting incentives if you will agree to stay with us:

1. Take your unused monthly balance, double it, and credit your new per-minute account. So, if you have $15 remaining in your Unlimited account (your balance reduces by approximately $1 every day of your monthly billing cycle), we will credit your new per-minute account with $30 in calling.

2. In addition, for your first two months as an AwakeTel per-minute customer, we will offer you exclusive V.I.P. rates that are, on average, 40% lower than our already low per-minute rates (to see our V.I.P. rates go to »www.awaketel.com/vip ).

3. Finally, for month 3, you will receive a loyalty credit of $29.99 applied to your third month of per-minute calling.

The value of these incentives could easily exceed $100. We offer them because we are in the process of re-designing our per-minute plan to be even more competitive and yet still have the same quality and service, and we want to keep you with the AwakeTel family while we do this. Once you see our new per-minute plan, we hope that you will want to remain a customer, even without the incentives. They seemed to have wanted a bunch of free publicity, to show they have unlimited calling to countries that no other phone provider could do, plus cheapo calls to foreign mobile numbers below cost. They must have been providing the service at a loss.
pcmeet : From the Dallasnews.com "AwakeTel uses AGC's VoIP network to carry its calls to other countries, where AwakeTel has arrangements with local telecommunications companies to connect with the call's recipient."

AwakeTel can't have arrangements with local telecommunication companies in ALL the listed 190 countries for example Egypt will not allow a VoIP call to connect directly to a landline, it must bridge 1st to the cellphone system before it gets forward to land line phone, that is why the per minute rate to call Egypt from USA is no way less than 10c a minute because they have to pay for the cellphone air time, that is also why calling a cellphone in Egypt is cheaper than calling a landline which is the opposite almost anywhere else, from their rate table I don't see how they will charge 8c a minute to call a cellphone in Egypt while giving unlimited free calls to a landline phone ??

JorSlz : Ok, Now I am giving you a Update on this.

I called them today because my service was not active yet and they told that the call id was showing a different number on their system that's why their system was giving me a error message. I called Lingo that is my phone company provider and they couldn't fix this problem, so what I did I put the number that they were getting on their call id system on my account Online and that fixed the problem that I had. After that my service started to work and I called different numbers in my country and I got connected and the sound quality was excellent. I checked my account Online to see if I had any charge for those calls that I made and nothing, so that's mean that the system only show you the call that you make to premium number not the call that make to the unlimited countries. Also when I call the access number the system answer the call in two language; English and Spanish for the Latino community. I am giving them a great review so far, but I will continue using the service to see how will goes.

The only problem is that you can only active one number to your account, so that's mean that only one number will get access to your service but you can change the number if you want at your online account management.
