It would seem like some kind of memory leak. Slowly the bittorrent apps are filling your ram and not releasing it. You can get a memory cleaner/scrubber that will free up available ram automatically when it gets too low. If that doesn't work, then I would have no idea what the problem is. Do you have current stable versions of your bittorrent software?
