Re: POP Server's Not working? Same problem here for the last few weeks. Using Outlook 2000 and a pop.pacbell.yahoo.com mail server.
Using same Outlook version, connection set-up, and computer I've had for ages with no problems. So, I'm not buying that the problem is on our end (as all the users here with several different Outlook versions prove).
From what happens in my case, I tend to agree with the theory of the server locking out multiple account log-in attempts in too short a period of time.
In my case, each Outlook send/receive checks three Pacbell email accounts. If the password box is going to pop up (usually does a few times a day), first account checked goes through fine; usually hangs on the second account checked; box pops up, I hit "OK", and then it goes right through.
Seemingly, even that few second interuption while I hit "OK" then allows access.
Odd and annoying. And since I've been checking these same 3 pacbell email accounts with the same Outlook 2000 for 6 years now on pacbell and now pacbell.yahoo mail servers, I would say this is definitely a new SBC glitch. |
