Re: [BT] Bit Torrent download stops my Internet HELP!!

I had the same problem. I was certain it was my router after researching and reading zillions of tech forums. I replaced the old router w/ a more expensive one and had the same thing happen! UGH! Decided to save for a new cable modem. Why not? SOMETHING was wrong! In the meantime I went down to my cable company and asked them for a replacement cable modem since they charge it to my acct. It was 39.99. It's the most rinkydink thing I've ever seen! Plan was to use it for a few weeks, save and buy a good one, and return the rinkydink one to the cable company for a full refund. BT works! No more internet drop outs! Turns out my old cable modem was a surfboard 3100, not docsis 2 compliant AND only had 10 mbps not 100 mbps ethernet ability.
Boy do I feel stupid.
I think I'll hang on to this rinkydink ScientificAtlanta Webstar modem. I hope this helps you, too. Gonna try to post this a few places. Maybe save someone else all the trouble I had.
