The city approved this dumb design for a single wall tunnel (standard is double wall) to get an extra lane (not even a commuting lane...it's an exit lane).  It's never been tried before (ya gotta wonder why) and they're trying to make the contractors pay for all of it.  Of course, the contractors suck too.  It's just a giant money pit...and yeah, I live here so I can say that :-)]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/459294"><b>MPScan</b></A> : Please don't knock the Big Dig from the middle of the country.  <br><br>I go from 10 miles northeast of Boston to 6 miles west of Boston, smack through the center of the city, during rush hour, and my commute is approx. 20 minutes, all between 40-60 mph. <br><br>Can any other major city claim that...?  I've travelled all over and visited probably all the Top 20 cities in the country, and compared to the rest, we have a pretty much zero traffic problem.  <br><br>Sure, there were cost overruns and it took about 15 years.. but all in all, I think it was money <B>very</B> well spent. ]]></description>
