I have Rogers Extreme and without any great difficulty, was right at my 100 gig limit last month.

That said, the fate of the .torrent files is probably simply the effect of throttling and dropped packets. The .torrent file has a recognizable signature.

My friends area is exactly like that, not even the trick ports work. However, his Limewire works at full speeds.
