Its never been more than $1-2... where as cable here sometimes went up $5 or more and sometime more than once a year, Plus 3 changes in ownership in 10 years (TCI, ATT, now Comcast) which led to additional increases shortly after the changeovers as well.
Extended Basic here is about $47 last I checked and that is only 70 all analog channels... vs DISH's 120+ for $8/month less. (And yes several of those 70 are shopping garbage, etc.)

It's been an annual occurrence for the last several years. You can see the annual increases here. And generally speaking, the increases have been less then cable when looked at overall. It's still a little hypocritical when Dish calls the cablecos pigs for raising rates, only to raise their rates 11% for their AT60 package.

Effective 2/1/06, Dish will be raising rates (again). Below are the new rates (with the amount of increase/percentage):

AT60: $29.99 ($3/11.11%) (AT60+ is still $5 extra)
AT120: $39.99 ($2/5.26%)
AT180: $49.99 ($2/4.16%)
Locals are not included in above price...add $5 in most cases.

AT60 prices are guaranteed through January of 2008.
